About Emily J. Hood

Emily J. Hood, PT, DPT, PWCS, CLT, PRPC Texas Licensed Physical Therapist | Board Certified Pelvic and Women’s Health Clinical Specialist | Certified Lymphedema Therapist | Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Dr. Emily Hood brings nearly 15 years of specialized pelvic health experience to every patient she treats.

Her advanced expertise in pelvic rehabilitation and lymphedema management allows her to evaluate the whole body and identify connections that may be overlooked in a general physical therapy setting. Emily is one of only 30 Board Certified Pelvic and Women’s Health Clinical Specialists currently listed in Texas through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She brings this rare level of specialization to patients in Boerne and throughout the surrounding Hill Country, offering advanced expertise that is not commonly available in the region. Her professional involvement extends well beyond the clinic. Emily teaches pelvic health content to physical therapy students, medical residents and fellows, physicians, and other healthcare professionals throughout Texas.

She also serves as a teaching assistant with the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, a leading provider of pelvic rehabilitation education, helping train the next generation of pelvic health clinicians. She has contributed her expertise to national physical therapy and specialty board examinations and continues to advance her knowledge through ongoing education and doctoral study in physical therapy.

Emily is passionate about making pelvic health education accessible within her community. She has provided education for prostate cancer support groups, local mothers groups and MOPS meetings, healthcare practices, and community symposiums addressing topics such as multiple sclerosis and sexual health. At Anchor & Heart, every appointment is provided directly by Emily and includes individualized, one on one attention. Patients receive the time, clinical reasoning, education, and thoughtful treatment planning that specialized care requires. Emily believes pelvic health care is not optional. It is essential. Every patient deserves to be heard, taken seriously, and given a clear plan for moving forward.
